Making sure your tie is the right length can be tough. It will take several times of tying your tie to get the right length for your height. Part of getting it right is to choose the best length tie. If it is too long or short, it will make it hard to tie it to the right length.
Here’s a short guide to help you end up with the right length when you are done.
1. Men That Are Under 5’10”
If you are 5’10” or less, you’ll want to make sure you get a tie that is between 54 - 57 inches in length. Also, men that are this height can get away with a more narrow tie and still keep the traditional look.
2. Men That Are 5’10”-6’2”
Men that are this height should choose a tie that is 57-59 inches long. They also will look best with a tie that’s between 2” - 2 1/2” in width.
3. Men That Are Over 6’3”
Very tall men should get a tie that is 61-63 inches long and at least 3” wide. The width of the tie should be the same width as the lapels on your jacket. Make sure to match those two up when you are choosing the right size.
